Tommy Logan, 82, of Paducah and a native of Quanah, Texas, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at 7:20 a.m. at Lourdes hospital.
Tommy was a member of Lone Oak United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict and served on the ship U.S. Shields. He was a member of the Paducah/McCracken County Retired Teachers Association, the Kentucky Retired Teachers, and was a former teacher at Lone Oak High School, Lone Oak Middle School, and finished his career in education as principal of Concord Elementary School. Tommy was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy Carolyn Wyman Logan; one daughter, Cindy Logan of Paducah; one son, David Logan and wife Linda of Boaz; two sisters, Margie Prater of Quanah, Texas, and Frances Daughtery and husband David of Traverse City, Mich.; one brother, James Logan and wife Mary Catherine of Levelland, Texas; two grandchildren, Katy Logan and Christopher Logan; two sisters-in-law, Jodell Logan of Lubbock, Texas, and Hilda Womble of Paducah; two brothers-in-law, Leslie Wyman and Joe Wyman, both of Melber; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his parents, Bernest E. Logan and Zeophlia O. White Logan; six sisters; and three brothers.
Services will be held Monday, August 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Boon officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. Friends may call Sunday, August 4, 2013, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
