Troy D. Bean, 86, of Paducah died Sunday, September 26, 2010, at 2:38 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was a member of Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and a former owner and operator of Bean's Garage. Troy was retired from Paducah Area Vocational Center, having taught in the Automotive and Welding Department. He was a former County Commissioner, serving on the Fiscal Court, instrumental in establishing the Hendron Water District, a Kentucky Colonel and a Red Coat Volunteer. He was a 1942 graduate of Lone Oak High School.
Services will be held today, September 29, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Tim Thweatt and Todd Belt officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family after 11 a.m. today at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eva Elizabeth Harper Bean; one daughter, Sue Carter (James) of White Plains, Ga.; one grandson, Michael Alan Harris (Tami); and two great-grandsons, Troy Michael Harris and Travis Mulkey; one sister, Dorothy Nell Harper; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dewey D. and Cordelia Goad Bean, and one sister, Virginia Yarbrough.
