Violet Smith

Violet L. Smith, 87, of Paducah died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday at Lourdes hospital.
She worked at Clausner Hosiery Mill for many years and was a member of Wice Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters, Glenda Nance and Brenda Jeffers, both of Fort Collins, Colo., and Pat Houser of Paducah; three sons, Gerald Smith, Dale Smith and Randy Walton, all of Paducah; a sister, Clara Coker of Paducah; a brother, Eugene Shaffer of Paducah; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delma Smith; two daughters, Donna Jones and Shelby Walton; a son, John Delma Smith; three sisters, six brothers; and one great-grandchild. Her parents were Boyd and Annie Goad Shaffer.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Roy Parks officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
