Bill Moody, 87, of Paducah passed away at 4:58 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
He worked at Party Mart, was a member of Moose Lodge #285 serving as Secretary, Governor, Pilgrim, and many other positions. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, and loved going to the casino playing craps. He served 26 years in the United States Navy having been in both WWII and Korean Wars, earning many medals and awards. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer/Ship's Cook and later as a recruiter.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Agnes Harmon of Aulander, N.C.; two stepsons, Jerry Baucum of Lone Oak, Ky., and Michael Baucum of Reidland, Ky.; several stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ray and Adie L George Moody; two sisters, Helen Sue Hoover and Sandra Jane Moody; and one brother, James Lee "Bubba" Moody.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Jerry Kanachki officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
