William Earl Steger, 70, of Paducah, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Western Baptist Hospital.
He passed away peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer and is rejoicing in Heaven.
Mr. Steger was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, retired Car Inspector for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Earl was an avid fisherman, loved music and enjoyed watching basketball. He was a talented wood craftsman and created many beautiful things for his family and friends. Family was so important to him. Earl was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Earl is survived by two daughters, Kathy Steger Steadham and husband, Phillip, of Paducah and Kimberly Steger McCracken and husband, Mark, of Fort Worth, Texas.
Five grandchildren, Jonathon Blackman of Eddyville, Ky., Landon Blackman of Paducah, Whitney Latham, Taylor Latham and Samantha McCracken, all of Fort Worth, Texas.
Brother, Johnny Steger of Paducah.
And special friend, Patricia Titsworth of Sharpe, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Harrison Steger; a brother, Paul Steger; and his sister, Elizabeth Steger. His parents were William McKinley Steger and Pearl Henson Steger.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. E. Lee James and Rev. Charles Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
